What should we wear for our photography session?
Wear what is the most comfortable and what best represents your child and your family. Avoid logos and characters, but wear vibrant colors and bring along fun, colorful accessories. The exception is newborns; they are best photographed wearing very little to nothing at all. I want to capture those small, intimate details of the newborn fuzz, wrinkles, tiny fingernails and soft skin. Maternity sessions may also incorporate some artistically nude shots, at the comfort of the client. Show off that beautiful belly with form fitting clothing; flowing dresses and skirts worn by a expectant lady make for amazing portrait art as well.
What will our photography session be like?
Your session can take place anywhere…your home, a park, the country; a space is secondary to the subjects captured in the photograph. My vision, along with my passion, is to capture the true emotions and details, that without portrait art, could easily be forgotten; I will capture your family as it should always be: real and in the moment. At the time of scheduling your session date, we will have a pre-session consultation via email or phone to discuss our visions for your portrait art. At the beginning of your portrait session I will spend a few moments getting to know each of you. Your child’s personality will emerge best when allowed to play; therefore I may ask that you quietly observe from a distance as I photograph each child. Sessions can last anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours (typical newborn session because of feedings and changing) however, time should not be a concern. I will photograph until I feel that I have captured the vision of images we set out to achieve.
What’s the next step after our photography session?
Following our photography session, I select at least 25 images (usually more), which I creatively edit and enhance to give each my real, in the moment with a subtle vintage look. Within 1-2 weeks following our session, the images will be placed in a password-protected online gallery, you will have the ability to view the gallery for 24 hours and share the link with family and friends. At the end of the 24 hours, I will be in contact with you for the placement and payment of your order. Prints and products are delivered within two weeks after the payment of your order has been received.
